The online course "Machine Dynamics Hands-on" teaches the basics of machine dynamics and the software-based solution of machine dynamics problems using MATLAB. It is aimed at prospective students from abroad who wish to prepare for studies at German universities. The course introduces them to teaching methods and learning platforms at German universities.
The course is integrated into the DAAD Digital Campus. The DAAD Digital Campus is a networked online portal to prepare international students linguistically, professionally and culturally.
The course covers the fundamentals of modelling, calculation and analysis of dynamic systems. Free and forced vibrations of systems with one and two degrees of freedom are considered. The vertical dynamics of a motor vehicle is used as an application example.
The course consists of five units over a total of five weeks. Each unit consists of short lecture videos with Prof. Corves and assignments to be completed independently using MATLAB Live scripts. Tutorials provide an introduction to programming with MATLAB. In addition, a supervised forum and self-tests are provided for independent learning.
