Abstract
In nowadays’ upper-class vehicles more than 80 - 100 control devices and over 10 communication bus systems are integrated. The increasing number of electronical systems with the need of interactive communication generates a high system complexity and with this an exponential growing error possibility is emerging. Today, system failures up to complete electronical system breakdowns are well known to any original equipment manufacturer (OEM). This causes expensive recalls, belated series releases and a growing number of unsatisfied customers. Therefore, nowadays’ reliability is a term getting more and more common. Taking into consideration the increasing number of driver assistant systems rising into the market and owing to the fact that, with these systems, new accident avoiding preventive-active security systems are approaching a high system reliability is getting more and more important but cannot be guaranteed by now. At least not by following today’s integration philosophies of almost any OEM. To increase the reliability of future vehicle generations equipped with mechatronical components and solely software based security and control algorithms, this thesis introduces an integrated test platform. This test platform is usable from the early stage of development through the overall process up to the vehicles "End of Line" test and alignment work scopes within the series production. Moreover, this document shows a complete new and fully automated and integrated End of Line test and alignment process.
