Machine Dynamics of Rigid Systems

The course Machine Dynamics of Rigid Systems deals with the research of the causes and effects of periodical forces and torques in machines. The mathematical formulation of dynamic problems is used to describe the appearing phenomena and aims at minimizing or avoiding the undesired effects.

1. Mass-Balancing

Calculation of forces and moments due to non-uniform moving masses for mechanisms with varying velocity ratio, especially for reciprocating piston machines with one or more cylinders as for example machines with cylinders in line, V-type or flat-type machines. Strain on links, joints and frames of mechanisms. Natural, full and partial balancing of forces and moments due to non-uniform moving by attaching counterweights or additional linkage.
